JG King’s Envirosmart homes are designed to help contribute towards a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by the more than 1000 JG King homes built each year. Living in a 6-star home can also save customers up to $800 per year on energy bills.
A 6-star energy rating is not simple to achieve and requires considerable changes to the building’s construction. JG King has altered its standard home design plans to include more sustainable orientations, increased insulation to walls and ceilings, door seals, airlocks, specially-coated glass and more. This coupled with our sole use of fully recyclable steel framing makes a JG King home one of the most sustainable new houses available on the market today.
*The 6-star energy rating on standard single-storey home designs is dependent on JG King being able to site the home in the most appropriate orientation for the lot relative to north. Alterations to the standard design will also incur an additional cost to re-rate and build to achieve a 6-star rating.
